Hubert Henry Maudrie, 85, of Interlachen, entered the sunset of life on Friday, February 24, 2017 at Putnam Community Medical Center, Palatka. The son of Clarence and Christian (Wachter) Maudrie, he was a native of Newberry, Michigan. Hubert was the 5th of thirteen children who grew up and was educated in Naubinway, on the Great Lakes in the Upper Peninsula, MI. Hubert was an honorably discharged United States Army Korean War veteran and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a member of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians. Since the early 1980s, he resided in Interlachen, and was a parishioner at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Interlachen. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #3822. Hubert was a commercial fisherman, and a Boilermaker who was contractor-employed at G-P and Seminole. He was a construction worker and welder who help fabricate many bridges. He was a very passionate community outreach volunteer who often helped to feed those in need.

At 12 noon Tuesday, February 28, 2017, the family gathered for a Memorial Mass at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity," with Father Amar Nath Nagothu, M.S.F.S., of St. Monica's Catholic Church, Celebrant.
