Herbert Lee Bryant, Jr., 41, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Friday, July 31, 2020 at Putnam Community Medical Center, Palatka. A native of St. Augustine, FL., Herbert Jr., the son of Herbert Lee Bryant, Sr. and Faye Angeline Ferguson, was born on Saturday, February 10, 1979. In his early years, he attended Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church, Hastings. During his teenage years, his family relocated to Palatka. He was educated in the St. Johns and Putnam County School Districts, attending Webster Elementary, Murray Middle, and Palatka High School, graduating in the Class of 1997. He was united in marriage to the former Stephanie Marie Jones on May 21, 2003 in Palatka. He was formerly employed as a chef at Sonny's and Corky Bell's for many years. Herbert had been employed at the St. Augustine Center for Living for the past three and a half years until his eternal transition. His hobbies included fishing, football, and softball.
In addition to his parents, Herbert was preceded in eternal rest by his uncles, Charles Ferguson, Sr. and Johnny Bryant.
He leaves to cherish his memories: devoted loving wife of 17 years , Stephanie Marie Bryant, Palatka; loving sons , Rodrick Bryant, Kendrick Bryant, both of Palatka; stepfather , Cecil Anderson, Sr., Hastings; loving sisters , Evelyn Bryant, Orlando; Cecilia Anderson, Palatka; Celena Anderson, East Palatka; brothers, Shedrick Anderson, Palm Coast; Ryan Anderson, Jacksonville; Corey Black, Palatka; Reginald Johnson, Sr., Nocatee; Cecil Anderson, Jr., East Palatka; several aunts and uncles, including Deborah Ferguson, Carol Tukes and Vera Bryant; mother in law, Laverne Isom, Interlachen; three sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, classmates, co-workers and friends.
In compliance with CDC COVID-19 guidelines (masks are required), a private (family only) Homegoing Celebration will be held at Flagg's Chapel of Serenity at 2 p.m., Saturday, August 8. Minister Alexius Ferguson, is the eulogist , Words of Life Ministries, St. Augustine. Friends are invited to join the family virtually via Facebook live: Flagg Serenity Memorial Chapel.
