Henry Lee Thomas, Jr., 47, Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Monday, April 21sh at Putnam Community Medical Center. He was a native of Palatka, born Tuesday, November 29, 1960 and was a 1978 graduate of Palatka High School. On April 23, 1999, he was united in Holy Matrimony to Artisdine King. Henry was a member the Apostolic Church of Jesus, East Palatka. He served as a faithful deacon and was dedicated to the Lord and his church. Henry was a dynamic maintenance man for over thirty years and for the past 3 years, he has been employed Palatka Health Care Center. He was a former maintenance man for the Palatka Housing Authority and the National Guard Armory in St. Augustine. He really loved church, enjoyed watching classic movies, fishing and playing video games. Preceding him in eternal rest includes his mother, Iola Thomas, sister; Betty Mims Connors; brothers, William and Isaac Mims To cherish his memories: To Cherish His Memories: Wife of nearly 9 years, Artisdine King Thomas, Palatka; Stepchildren, Quincy Bennett, Christine Fletcher, Hillary King, and Jaleesa King all of Palatka; Father, Henry (Roxie) Thomas, San Mateo; Brothers, Willie (Annie Mae) Battles, Sr., of Johnson; Timothy (Pam) Thomas, Sr., Frank (Brenda) Cooper, and Cecil Thomas, all of Palatka, Kenneth (Angela) Thomas, Ramstein, Germany; Sisters, Rebecca Williams, Pearlee Youman, Sandra (Victor) Peeples, Elizabeth (Wylie) Shingles, Pamela (Arthur) Ward all of Palatka; Nora (Bobby) Walker, Muskegon, Michigan; Step-brother, LeePrecious Jones, San Mateo; Sister-in-law, Bonnie Mims, Buffalo New York; Special Relatives, Betty McCaskill & Juanita Oliphant, Palatka; God-brother & god-sister, Elder Robert and Vanessa Williams, Palatka; 48 nieces and nephews, including a devoted niece; Markisha Valentine, Palatka; a host of other relatives and sorrowing friends. Visitation of family & friends will be 5-8 pm on Friday, April 25th at the Chapel of Serenity. Homegoing Services will be 4 pm Saturday, April 26th at Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church, 4909 St. Johns Ave., Palatka. Bishop Gregory Johnson, Pastor of H Q Ministries, Altamonte Springs is the eulogist. Interment will be in Oak Hill West Cemetery, Palatka.
