IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Helen Lee
Kirkland Williams
January 22, 1935 – October 5, 2025
Helen Lee Freeman Williams, was born on Tuesday, January 22, 1935, in Green Cove Springs, Florida, to Leroy and Willie Mae (Young) Freeman. She was educated in the Clay County school district at Dunbar High School. During her early years, she married Richard Kirkland. Four children were born to this union. They remained married until his transition. Later, Helen and James L. Williams united in holy matrimony and five children were born to this union. Helen resided in Green Cove Springs for the majority of her life. For more than 30 years, she was employed as a cook at Moosehaven Retirement Community in Orange Park.
God and family were a priority in Helen's life. She accepted Christ at an early age. As an adult, she rendered faithful service to God through her church home, Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as a deaconess, a choir member and church mother. Helen managed to balance full-time employment while raising her children, each with whom she had a unique bond. Whether she was in person or on the phone, the depth of Helen's love was best conveyed in her parting words …. "Love You More". Helen was blessed to be able to extend her tender loving care to the fourth generation of her family by raising her great grandson, Quinton Major. Spending time sitting on the porch with her family, reading the Bible and solving Bible based puzzles gave Helen many moments of joy. She admired the beauty of all types of flowers and loved her some chocolate candy "Hershey's Kisses" and shopping. She especially looked forward to going out to eat with Kenya after each doctor's visit!
In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in eternal rest by her husband, James L. Williams, granddaughter, Shenah L. Cobbert, daughter in law, Barbara J. Kirkland and son in law, Marvin Taylor.
Helen peacefully entered the sunset of life on Sunday, October 5th at her residence.
