Obituary

Harviette Cohen Williams, 54, of St. Augustine, entered the sunset of life surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Duke Regional Hospital, Durham, NC. The daughter of Waldence and Delores Virginia (Findley) Cohen, she was born on Friday, October 4, 1963 in Orlando, FL. Harviette was a 1981 graduate of St. Augustine High School. She was a member of New Mt. Moriah Christian Ministry, St. Augustine, serving as secretary of the Deaconess Board and sang in the Senior Choir. Additionally, she also served as a community youth choir director, missionary, Prayer and Bible Ministry member; People Helping People Choir member; N.F.C.A.A. volunteer; American Legion Post #194 softball team member. She was a loyal FAMU Rattlers fan. Her hobbies included shopping, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends. She truly had a heart for helping others and provided loving support and encouragement to the people around her. She will be missed for her fun-loving and easy-going personality that she freely shared with others.

She leaves to cherish her memories: husband of 33 years, Ronald Williams; daughter, Ebony (Royce) Martin; son, Ronald Williams, Jr.; father, Waldence (Inez) Cohen; sister, Shirley (Michael) Scott; brother, Byron (Drina) Cohen; stepsister, Carla (Bruce) Mitchell; stepbrothers, Marlon (Evette) Jones, Orris (Queena) Jones, Vernon (Sherry) Jones; six grandchildren, Kendall, Kelsey, and Chase Martin; R'Layah, Rylend, and Ra'miah Williams; godchildren, Kawaun Jakes, Charity Grayer, and Kyla Kearse; uncles and aunts, Linwood (Debra) Findley, Thomas (Christine) Cohen, Willie James Cohen, Martha Pasco; special daughter, LaShantz Stevens; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation of family and friends: 5-7 p.m., Friday, January 12th at New Mt. Moriah Christian Ministry, 676 Christopher St., St. Augustine, Rev. Ronald L. Stafford, Pastor and eulogist. Homegoing Celebration: 2 p.m., Saturday, January 13th, at St. Paul A.M.E. Church, 85 M.L. King Avenue, St. Augustine, Rev. Ron Rawls, host Pastor. Interment: Evergreen Cemetery, 505 N. Rodriquez Street, St. Augustine.
