Harriet Hill, 65, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Friday, September 9, 2016 at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center, Palatka. The daughter of Harold and Florine (Collier) Hill, she was a native and lifelong resident of Palatka, born on Friday, September 22, 1950. She was a 1969 graduate of Central Academy High School. Harriet was formerly employed as a sander with Florida Furniture Industries and was a retired homemaker. She was of the Baptist faith and often attended services at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. Harriet enjoyed cross sketching and working in the yard.
In addition to her parents, Harriet was preceded in eternal rest by her sisters, Imogene Robinson, Dorothy Ann Hill, and Eva Mae Hill; brothers, James L. Hill, Kenneth Hill and Harold Hill, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories: son, Clarence Hayes, Jr., Palatka; daughters, Katasha Hill and Artaka Hill, both of Palatka; 2 grandchildren, Antonio Hill and Dontarius Hayes; 2 great-grandchildren, Joshua Hill and Joseph Hill; sisters, Roberta Francis, Florine Hill Pope, both of Palatka; Yvonne (Johnnie) Jackson, Jacksonville; Dorothy (Joseph) Strickland, Kingsley, GA, brothers, Jerome (Terri) Hill, Jacksonville; MacArthur (Emma) Hill, Woodbine, GA, sister-in-law, Kathy Hill, Palatka; best friend/adopted brother, Ray Michael Bess, Palatka; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation of family and friends will be 5-8 p.m., Friday, September 16 at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." Homegoing Celebration will be 11 a.m., Saturday, September 17, at Greater Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 1000 N. 19th Street, Palatka, Reverend Anthony Q. Robinson, Sr., Pastor is the Eulogist. Interment will be in Oak Hill West Cemetery.
