Harold Bellamy, 77, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Friday, July 10, 2020 at his daughter's residence in Jacksonville surrounded by his loving family. A native of Fitzgerald, GA., he was the son of Joe Bellamy, Sr., and Amanda (Hayes) Bellamy, born on Friday, March 19, 1943. Harold of the Baptist faith. He retired from Gate's Roofing, Green Cove Springs. Harold had a heart of gold and loved his family. He had a passion for cars and working on vehicles. He was always willing to help family and friends with their auto mechanic needs from putting in new motors, transmissions, brakes, starters, etc., - you name it, he could do it. He enjoyed riding around town in a clean and fast car. Every weekend he would take the kids for a drive after his car was shining clean. Every year he hosted Thanksgiving with the family. He would cook lots of food and welcomed everyone. He made sure there was a great meal with several dessert options including his favorite, jelly cake.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in eternal rest by his: son, Keith Bellamy; daughter, Precious Greene; brothers, Elder Ronald, Sr., Anthony, Sr., Sidney, Joe, Jr. Bellamy; sisters, Patricia Jackson, Barbara McNeal, and Rosemary Moore.
He leaves to cherish his memories: beloved lifetime partner, Damita "Nette" Robinson, Palatka; sons and daughters, Harold "Wesley" (Tikki) Bellamy, Jr., Orange Park; Shirley (Hipolito) Bellamy, Jacksonville; Diana Bellamy, Orange Park; Jerome (Wanda) Bellamy, Lawastine (Clarence) Bellamy, both of Middleburg; Bernard (Tichonia) Bellamy, Jacksonville; Jennifer (James) Littles, Orange Park; 22 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; brothers, Gus Bellamy, Palatka; Edward Bellamy, Jacksonville; Earnest (Mattie) Harris, Tallahassee; sisters, Josephine (Alphonso) Brooks, Palatka; Annie (James) Williams, Jacksonville; Annie Pearl (Ferris) Lewis, Cynthia Harris, both of Bainbridge, GA; and a host of uncles, aunts, other relatives and friends, including godson, Darrick "D.Y." Young, Orange Park.
In compliance with CDC COVID-19 guidelines (including required masks) a limited, socially-distanced visitation of family and friends will be from 6-8 p.m., on Friday, July 17 at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." A Private Family Celebration of Harold's Life will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, July 18 at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." Dr. Ernestine Lockett, pastor, Soul Winning Temple Holiness Church, is the eulogist. Interment will be in Palatka Memorial Gardens.
