IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Glovine
Ferguson
January 30, 1936 – March 2, 2024
Glovine Ferguson, 88, of Hartford, CT, entered eternal rest on Saturday, March 2, 2024, peacefully at her residence. Glovine was born on Thursday, January 30, 1936, to the late James Ferguson, Sr. and Alberta Jackson Speach. She was raised in Palatka, FL and educated in the Putnam County School District. At an early age, Glovine was encouraged by her family to pursue better opportunities for herself and her daughter, Gail. In 1957, she decided to move to Hartford, CT and promptly accepted a Nurse's Aide position at Wethersfield Manor Convalescent Home (Wethersfield, CT). After leaving the workforce, Glovine focused more on spending time with her family. She was a dedicated daughter, mother, and grandmother. She was an excellent cook, and enjoyed shopping, eating out at her favorite restaurant, Tinkers, traveling, playing bingo, and watching all kinds of sports. When Glovine returned home to Florida in 1992 to care for her mother, she rededicated her life to Christ, and never looked back. She loved the Lord, and His Word, and was a faithful member wherever the Lord directed her to do His work. Whether she was with her Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church family in Palatka, FL, or with her Impact Church family in Hartford, CT, or reading scripture every Sunday afternoon for her church family at From the Roadside to the Mountaintop Ministries, International of Bloomfield, CT, she was committed to Kingdom work. Her welcoming personality, contagious smile, perfect touch of feisty and classy style, created amazing friendships and lasting memories for countless ones to cherish.
In addition to her parents, Glovine was preceded in eternal rest by her brothers, James "Jimmy" Ferguson, Robert "Rabbit" Lee Ferguson, and Lawrence Prince.
She leaves to cherish her memories; devoted daughter, Tomarsha G. "Cookie" Willis Smith; grandchildren, Retina Smith, Calvin H. Smith III, Ta'Rori Weaver, Etta Weaver, Rory Weaver Jr. (Shamari), Raven Weaver, Austin McKenzie, Jared McKenzie-Smith, and Colbi Willis; nine great grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; an abundance of bonus grandchildren; special nieces, Gale "Lovette" Prince (James), and Latonya Allen (Reginald, Sr.); special cousins, Rev.
