Gladys Mae Guice-Lee, 79, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center, Palatka. A native of Union Springs, AL. She was the daughter of Wyatt Guice and Jesse Mae Barnes, born on Wednesday, September 3, 1941. She was educated in the Gadsden County, AL School District at Carter Campbell High School. After graduation, she met and was united in marriage to Jesse Lee in Monticello, FL and they subsequently moved to Palatka. She was a longtime, faithful member of Church of God by Faith. She served as a secretary for the church's burial league and finance board. She was a cafeteria worker employed by the Putnam County School District at Jenkins Middle School for over 25 years until retirement. Gladys loved the Lord, and enjoyed going to church and cooking.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in eternal rest by her sisters, Inez Camel, Algertha Ellison, Katie Romeo, Thelma Reddicks, Lucille Reid, Betty Sapp, Willie Dean Pearson; brother, William Guice.
She leaves to cherish her memories: daughter, Angel (Larry) Hall; granddaughters, Brianna Hall, Adrianna Hall; sister, Bennie (Alton) Fain; "like a daughter", Christall (John) Azcarate; a host of nieces and nephews, especially Betty Lynn Hinkson and Debbie Romeo; godsons, Trevon Johnson, Anthony Carter; and a host of other relatives and friends.
In compliance with CDC COVID-19 guidelines (including required masks) a socially-distanced visitation of family and friends will be from 5-7 p.m., Friday, October 16 and a Celebration of Life will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, October 17 at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity", Superintendent Emeritus Phillip Thomas, Pastor, Palatka Church of God by Faith, is the eulogist. Friends are invited to join the family virtually via Facebook live: Flagg Serenity Memorial Chapel. Interment: Oak Hill West Cemetery.
