Geraldine "G.B." "Ms. Gerri" Brown Longmire, 83, of Middleburg, entered the sunset of life on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at HCA Florida Orange Park Hospital. The daughter of Ozzie Brown and Lillie Dallas-Brown, she was born on Sunday, October 9, 1938 in Satsuma. "G.B." was a 1957 graduate of Dunbar High School. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a Deaconess. "G.B." was employed by the Clay County School Board for 25 years. She enjoyed traveling, reading, and solving crossword puzzles.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in eternal rest by her husband, Rex Longmire Sr.; daughter, Diane E. Longmire.
To cherish her memories: her 6 children, Debra (Chester) Austin, Green Cove Springs; Jacquelyn (Harrison) Green, Middleburg; Rex (Jackie) Longmire, Middleburg; Chet Longmire, Green Cove Springs; Cameron (Chrishaunda) Longmire, Middleburg; Kimberly (Matthew) Chavis, Jacksonville; 6 grandchildren, Jamire Austin, Brittany Austin, Jerred Longmire, Garrett Longmire, Rayshad Butler, Tamari Harper, Kayla Longmire, Rexshea Longmire, Tanisha Longmire; 3 godchildren , Sandra Solomon, Tyrongela Suggs, Bruce Griner Jr.; great cousins, Shirley Sheffield, Betty Johnson, Joyce Johnson, Beatrice Grissett; devoted friends, Fred & Gwen Hampshire, Willie and Betty Battle, Charlene Williams, Tony Battle, Nancy Ferrell, Leroy and Elaine Amos, The Johnson Family, The Jenkins Family, The Jones Family, Geneva Presha, Ethel Wright, Lena Lewis, Katrina Witherspoon, Eva Mae Simmons, Bessie Kelsey, Anthony and Gloria Jean Thompson, Melody Reese, SuSann Forman Ferreirs, Dorothy Westbrook, Levi Martin III, Nettie Reese-Coleman, Hosea Mack, Sue Jackson, Loretta Coleman, The Harper Family, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Public Visitation: 5-7 p.m., Friday, August 12, at St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church, 2703 Forman Circle, Middleburg. Celebration of Life: 1 p.m., Saturday, August 13, at First Baptist Church of Middleburg, 2645 Blanding Blvd, Middleburg. Rev. Robert L. Wright, Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Green Cove Springs, Pastor and officiant. Interment: Fowler-Forman Cemetery, Middleburg.
