George Emanuel Taylor, Jr., 71, of St. Petersburg, entered the sunset of life on Monday, September 10, 2018 at his residence. A native of Hastings, he was the son of George Taylor, Sr. and Myrtle Humphrey, born on Thursday, October 24, 1946. He was lovingly raised in Palatka by his paternal aunt, Rebecca Taylor Ray and was a 1964 graduate of Central Academy High School. He continued his education at the former St. Johns River Junior (now State) College, Palatka. He was a resident of St. Petersburg for over 20 years, moving from Newark NJ. He was a faithful member of Traveler's Rest Missionary Baptist Church of St Petersburg for over 20 years. George was united in holy matrimony to the former Cassaundra Primas of Newark, NJ. He formerly worked for Dollar Rental car as a Shuttle Bus driver and also served as a Union Representative. George had a stellar career of over 25 years as a professional, commercial licensed tour bus driver with the Martz Group (5th generation, family owned and operated transportation company). George's travels took him throughout the East coast region of the United States and beyond.
In addition to his parents, George was preceded in eternal rest by his devoted aunt (second mother) Rebecca Taylor-Ray and uncle, Robert "Bob" Ray.
He leaves to cherish his memories: loving and devoted wife, Cassaundra Primas-Taylor, St. Petersburg; sons, Terry (Cheryl) Taylor, Sr., Jacksonville; Gavin (Tanya) Taylor, Bloomfield, NJ; Kendall (Benae) Lambright, Cumming, GA; daughters, Trentonia (Bruce) Taylor-Council, Jacksonville; LaKeisha (Waki) Smith-Jones, St. Petersburg; 12 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; loving and devoted sister, Cecelia Pasha, Newark, NJ; sisters, Angela Taylor, Charleston, SC; Debra Adkins, Sewell, NJ; brothers, Michael (Juanita) Taylor, Palatka; Andre (Veronica) Taylor, Pittsville, MS; loving aunt, Marie Adams, Palatka; best friend, Jackie (Geraldine) Williams, Palatka; plentiful cousins, including devoted cousin (like a brother), Ulysess "Lucky" (Phyllis) Humphrey, Durham, NC; and a host of other caring relatives and friends, including his loyal and loving Yorkie Poo, "Romeo" and Yorkie Poo Chihuahua, "Chloe."
Visitation of family and friends will be 5-8 p.m., Friday, September 21, at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." Celebration of George's Life will be 11 a.m., Saturday, September 22, at Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church, 4909 St. Johns Avenue, Palatka, Reverend Karl N. Flagg, Pastor, presiding. George's pastor, Wm. Mark Greene, pastor of Traveler's Rest Missionary Baptist Church, St. Petersburg, is the eulogist. Interment will be in Oak Hill West Cemetery.
