Gary James Stubblefield, 69, of Hollister, entered the sunset of life on Friday, January 22, 2021 at his residence.  A native of Ohio, Gary was the son of James Larry and Carletta Mae (Looney) Stubblefield, born on Thursday, August 23, 1951. At an early age, Gary's family relocated to Palatka, FL.  He was a graduate of Palatka South High School and subsequently attended St. Johns River Community (State) College. He was very athletic and loved playing baseball and enjoyed playing golf. Gary was an honorably discharged United States Army veteran who served as a military police office (Patrol Dog Handler). SP4 Stubblefield earned the Good Conduct Medal, Pistol Marksman and Rifle Expert badges, respectfully. He was employed by Georgia Pacific in the tissue converting department as a wrapper operator for the past 21 years. Gary was delighted to visit England on several occasions to spend time with friends and his wife Jane's family. (Of course, he took his golf clubs and even had the opportunity to play on a rainy day on the golf course in England!)  As a sports enthusiast, he was a loyal University of Florida Gator fan and an avid reader who amassed a large collection of books over the years. He was preceded in eternal rest by his parents.

He will be missed by his former wife and friend, Jane Stubblefield; several cousins and numerous friends, schoolmates, and coworkers.

In compliance with CDC COVID-19 guidelines including required masks with social distancing, a Memorial Visitation in Gary's honor will be held from 10 a.m.- noon, Saturday, February 6, at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity."
