Obituary

Freddie Lee Sutton, Sr., 61, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at his residence. The son of Queen Etta Toliver and Jimmie Lee Sutton, Freddie was a native and lifelong resident of Palatka, born on Saturday, September 24, 1955. Freddie initially attended Palatka Central High School, subsequently transferred to Palatka South High School, graduating in the class of 1974. He was a member of The Potter's House International Ministries of Jacksonville, serving as a sanctuary servant and in the men's ministry. He was a former member and Deacon at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church of Palatka. He was employed by Marble Today. He was a former employee of Ride Solutions and PDM Bridge (now Veritas Steel). Freddie enjoyed reading his bible and going to the movies. He enjoyed watching sports and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

He was preceded in eternal rest by his father, Jimmie Lee Sutton; mother Queen Toliver Betts; stepfather, Eugene Betts; son, Laron Sutton, sisters, Julia Mae Coleman, Carolyn Sutton, Grace Brown, Diane Williams; brother, Henry Williams.

He leaves to cherish his memories: daughters, Timika Sutton, Sharell (Johnny) Perry; sons, Antoine Kemp Sutton, Freddie Sutton, Jr., Karon Sutton, Deon Sutton, Charles Sutton, Fre'Darian Sutton; step-brothers, Eugene Betts, Jr., Michael Grant; step-sisters, Linda Betts, Deanie Betts, all of Palatka; 22 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation of family and friends will be 5-8 p.m. Friday, April 21, 2017 at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." Homegoing Celebration will be 11 a.m., Saturday, April 22, 2017 at the Palatka House of God Church, 723 North 19th Street, Palatka, Bishop G. L. Evans, Jr., Pastor. Bishop Vaughn McLaughlin, Founder & Overseer of The Potter's House International Ministries, Jacksonville, is the eulogist. Interment will be in Oak Hill West Cemetery.
