Freddie Lee Jackson, 62, of Gainesville, entered the sunset of life on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at Haven Hospice E.T. York Center, Gainesville. A native of Palatka, Freddie was the son of Willie Lee and Dorothy (Austin) Jackson, born on Wednesday, July 1, 1953. He attended Central Academy High School and played football. He loved music and was a very gentle man who loved his family and friends. Freddie was a former Florida Furniture Industries employee. In addition to his parents, Freddie was preceded in eternal rest by his step-father, G.B. Maxwell; aunt & uncle, Harriet and Henry Williams; niece, Keturah Middlebrook. He leaves to cherish his memories: devoted companion of 45 years, Ella Mae Donerson-Whetstone, Gainesville; two sons, Eugene Bernard Jackson, Sr., Gainesville; Freddie Baker, San Mateo; one sister, Elizabeth "Liz" Jackson, Palatka; uncle, Harry Austin, Palatka; like-a-daughter, Charlene Parker, Palatka; like-sons, Frankie Lee Whetstone, Jr., Tyrone Christopher Whetstone, both of Gainesville; grandchildren, Jalisa Jackson, Eugene Bernard Jackson, Jr., Sunday Hunter, all of Gainesville; "like-a-mother" Dora Bell Donerson, Palatka; like sisters, Patricia (Jimmy) Deering, Christine (Curtis) Jones, both of Gainesville; like brothers, James Donerson, Palatka, Tommy Donerson, South Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends, including special friends, Michael Grant, James "Buddy" Fuce, both of Palatka; Terrence (Liza) Wimberly, Gainesville; caregivers, Heather Hennessey, Gainesville; Arena Williamson, Archer. Visitation of family and friends will be 5-8 p.m., Friday, September 25 and Celebration of Life at 11 a.m., Saturday, September 26 at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity".
