Kaymore
May 16, 1944 – July 4, 2020
Franklin Kaymore, 76, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Saturday, July 4, 2020 at his residence. A native of Lake City, FL., he was the son of Earnest Lee Kaymore, Sr., and Eula Mae Singleton Kaymore, born on Tuesday, May 16, 1944. During his early years (at the age of eight), his family relocated and made Palatka their home. He was educated in the Putnam County School District, attending Central Academy High School and was on the high school football team. On August 19, 2006 he was united in marriage to Dora Mae McNeal. He was a Deacon of the Christian faith and was a former member of the Church of the Kingdom of God. Franklin was an excellent cook who also enjoyed baking cakes and cookies. Franklin loved to go fishing and enjoyed watching sports, listening to gospel music and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, Franklin was preceded in eternal rest by his brother, Earnest L. "Sam" Kaymore, Jr. and sister, Pastor Lola Kaymore Whitty.
He leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Dora Mae Kaymore, Palatka; sons, Jacquet DeLeon "JD" Kaymore, Palatka Andrew (Chantel) Phillips, Alachua; daughter, Jacqueline "Jackie" Williams, McDonough, GA; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; brothers, Leon (Shirley) Kaymore, Savannah, GA; James Kaymore, Irvington, NJ; Lee Otis (Peggy) Kaymore, Palatka; Danny (Marie) Kaymore, Interlachen; sister, Mary (Barrett) Garrard, Newark, NJ; brother-in-law, James Whitty, St. Augustine; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In full compliance with CDC COVID-19 guidelines, a socially-distanced visitation of family and friends will be from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Saturday, July 11 at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." A Celebration of Franklin's Life will be held graveside at 2 p.m., Saturday, July 11 at Oak Hill West Cemetery, 712 S. Palm Avenue, Palatka.
