Obituary

Frank Doyle Bellamy, Sr., 71, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Friday, July 20, 2012 at Haven Hospice, E.T. York Hospice Care Center in Gainesville following an extended illness. A native of Monticello, FL., he was born on Sunday, August 11, 1940 to Randolph & Irene (Rines) Bellamy, Sr. Frank was educated in the Jefferson County, FL School District. While residing in Palatka, on August 8, 1963, he was inducted into the United States Army, earning numerous awards including Marksman (Rifle M-1) and Sharpshooter (Rifle M-4). He returned to Palatka and served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He was a former member of Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church. Frank worked in logging/pulpwood most of his life and was a dutiful handyman. He was formerly employed with Florida Timber, Alford Timber Company and Cremer Woods Inc. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in eternal rest by his daughter, Tiffany Kyntrell Bellamy; siblings, Bailey Bellamy, Randolph Bellamy, Jr., Maxie Turner, and Rutha Mae Johnson. Those who will cherish his memories: son: Frank D. "Scooter" Bellamy Jr., grandsons; Fran'quez Bellamy; Dez'monze Burns, all of Palatka; sister, Irene Anderson, Greenville, FL; raised as a son, Darryl T. Sessions, Palatka; raised as daughters: Julie Wright, Gainesville, Beatrice (Greg) Shazel, and Erica (Tremel) Robinson, all of Palatka; devoted companion, Mattie J. Reid, East Palatka; loved like daughters: Tameka Torrance; Tawan Torrance, all of Palatka; His son's mother, Frances L. "Peaches" Williams, Palatka; sister-in-law, Denise Turner, Palatka; just like a grandson, Lil' Eddie Brown III, Palatka; 12 special grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and sorrowing friends. Visitation of family and friends will be from 5 - 8 p.m., Friday, July 27th at the "Chapel of Serenity." Homegoing Celebration will be 10 a.m. Saturday, July 28th, Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church, 4909 St. Johns Avenue, Palatka. Reverend Karl N. Flagg, pastor, is the eulogist. Interment with Military Honors will be in Oak Hill West Cemetery, Palatka.
