Frances Lee "Peaches" Williams, 60, of Palatka, was called from her earthly labors to her eternal reward on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at Haven Hospice-Roberts Care Center, Palatka, following a brief illness. A native and lifelong resident of Palatka, she was the daughter of Blanche Williams-Woods and Sammie Lee "Mossy" Williams, born on Tuesday, March 23, 1954. She was a 1973 graduate of Palatka South High School and subsequently attended the St. Augustine Technical Center's Law Enforcement Academy. "Peaches" was also a Certified Nursing Assistant and a superb Chef. She was very industrious and was always working and over the years she was employed by numerous employers, including the legendary Granger's Café and Dinah's Café; Simmons' Labor Camp, Putnam County School District, Hastings Youth Academy, Palatka Health Care Center, Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center, and the Putnam Correctional Institution. Frances' initial career commenced with the Putnam County Sheriff's Office on March 20, 1987 in the Corrections Division. During her 22-year tenure (1987-2004; 2009-2014) with the PCSO, she became dual-certified on May 1, 1990 both Corrections and Law Enforcement. She also served as a Reserve Officer and Receptionist, later transferring to full-time Corrections Officer in 2010. She was a member of Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church and formerly assisted in the Food Service Ministry. "Peaches" was such a loving and compassionate soul who always placed the needs of others before her own. She really enjoyed being a caregiver to countless senior citizens throughout Putnam County, especially serving Ernest "Boyd" Thompson, Edward Cremer, Charles Sanders, Harold Frazier, Clifford Buckles, Edith Pounds, and Lois Townsend. Her hobbies included studying the Holy Bible, cooking, playing bingo, going to yard sales and dressing in the latest fashions. "Peaches" was also a strong advocate in the community for voting rights and she made sure that everyone eligible to vote had transportation to their respective precinct, especially senior citizens. She also prepared and delivered meals for those who were less fortunate. She loved spending quality time with her children and grandchildren and she loved interior decorating within her home. One of her pastimes was talking on the telephone and she would always putting others' needs before her own. In addition to her mother and father, "Peaches" was preceded in eternal rest by her infant daughter, Tiffany K. Bellamy; step-father, Daniel Woods; brother, Jock T. Woods, grandson, Shaquille D. Smith, granddaughter, Shadae A. Smith. She leaves to cherish her memories: devoted daughter, Erica N. (Tremell) Robinson; beloved sons, Darrell T. (Annette Brown) Session, Sr. and Frank D. Bellamy, Jr., all of Palatka; 10 grandchildren, SP4 Sheddrick L. (Precious) Smith, Jr., U.S. Army Fort Knox, KY Sequan L. Curry, Shevelle C. Smith, Shawn L. Smith, Shemar L. Curry, D'Ariel A. Session, Dez'Monzae Burns, Fran'Queez S. Bellamy, Daija A. Session, all of Palatka; Darrell T. Session, Jr., Gainesville; great-grandson, Brendan L. Smith, Palatka; sisters and brothers, Catherine Williams, Debra (Leroy) Hunter, Mae Alice Williams, Alice Mae Williams, Pearlie Ruth, Goldie (Jimmie) Vickers-Morris, Jackie (Barbara) Williams, Michael Williams, Daniel Woods, Jr., all of Palatka; Mary Hayes, Newark, OH; Sammie L. Williams, Jr., and James Williams, both of Detroit, MI, Donald L. (Aronell) Williams, McAllen, TX., Donald L. Williams and Corry (Sherrie) Williams, both of Green Cove Springs; "like a mother," Mother Annie Lee Williams, Palatka; special friend, Houston Williams, Palatka; goddaughter, Shunteria Jones, Orlando; devoted cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, loyal co-workers, and other caring relatives and friends. Visitation of family and friends will be 4-7 p.m., Friday, November 7, at Mt. Tabor. Homegoing Celebration will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, November 8, at Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church, 4909 St. Johns Avenue, Palatka, Reverend Karl N. Flagg, Pastor, is the eulogist. Interment with full Putnam County Sheriff's Department Honors will follow the services in Oak Hill West Cemetery, 712 S. Palm Avenue, Palatka. The cortege will assemble 10:15 a.m. at Jenkins Middle School, 1100 North 19th Street, Palatka.
