Fletcher Thomas, 86, a native and lifelong resident of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Friday, November 10, 2017 at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center, Palatka. The son of Will Thomas, Sr. and Florence (Redding) Thomas, he was born on Saturday, December 6, 1930. He was educated in the Putnam County School District at Central Academy High School. Fletcher was employed at Florida Furniture and also worked in pulpwood for many years.
In addition to his parents, Fletcher was preceded in eternal rest by his brothers, Hope and Willie Thomas; sisters, Agnes Johnson, Mamie Jones, Irene Cohens, Florence Dunmore, Corine McClendon, Edith Carter and Ernestine Emily.
To cherish his memories: step-daughter, Sandra Mallard Brown, Nashville, TN; sisters, Thelma Hughes, Dorothy Wright, both of Palatka; a host of nieces and nephew including devoted nephew, Claude Cohens, Orange Mills; devoted niece, Doris Cohens, Jacksonville; other relatives and friends.
Visitation of family and friends will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, November 17 and Celebration of Fletcher's Life will be 11 a.m., Saturday, November 18 at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." Elder Jarvis F. Wright, Pastor of New St. Paul Church of God in Christ, Seville, officiating.
