Felicia "Lisa" Deon Marshall Nelson, 46, native and lifelong resident of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at UF Health Shands of Gainesville. The daughter of Joseph and Nita Marshall, she was born on Thursday, April 19, 1973. She was educated in the Putnam County School District and a graduate of Palatka High School, class of 1993. Lisa furthered her education at First Coast Technical College, where she received her cosmetology license. She then attended Keiser University in 2015 where she received her Occupational Therapy Assistant Certification. She was a former member of Grace and Truth Ministries, Apostle Cora B. Fells, Pastor, and also served in the youth ministry at To God be the Glory Holiness Church, under the leadership of the late Dr. Ruth Lowe Reeves. She later joined Rhema Healing and Deliverance Ministry under the leadership of Pastor Lorenzo Wright. In June 2019, she united with Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church, Rev. Karl N. Flagg, Pastor. She became an entrepreneur at a young age, operating the Family's Neighborhood Candy Store. She later opened her own namesake salon, "Style by Lisa." Over the years, she was employed by the Chocolate Factory, Seminole Electric, and Ebony & Ivory Hair Salon.
In addition to her father; Felicia was preceded in eternal rest by her paternal grandparents , Johnny L. and Bessie Marshall; maternal grandparents, Willie L. and Doris Purdy, and brother, Cedric B. Marshall.
Lisa leaves to cherish her memories: her beloved son, Akeem Rich; devoted daughter , D' Keena Marshall, both of Palatka; her mother, Apostle Nita (Sam) Bryant, Interlachen; stepmother, Flossie Marshall, Cairo, GA; siblings , Keith (Christie) Marshall, Gregg (Lakia) Bryant, Amani Bryant and Elexus Bryant, all of Interlachen; Brandon Marshall, Moultrie, GA, Sarah Nell (Odell) James, Valdosta, GA; Josephine (Vincent) Cooper, Lorraine Lynn Marshall, both of Homerville, GA, Jenieza Marshall, Bainbridge, GA, Jaime Marshall and Chassitie Marshall, Cairo, GA; James Bryant and Sammie (Jana) Bryant, both of Redding, PA; Clarissa (Steven) Cook, Redding, PA, Samantha Bryant, Pottstown, PA; sister-in-law , Jennifer Marshall, Homerville, GA; special cousins , Gloria "Fat" Marshall and Tammy Purdy; godchildren , Kiace White and Josh Cooks; "sisters from another mother," L'Tracy Borom, Aneika Mckinnon, Carol Dallas, Tammy McCaskill-Valentine, Barbara Robinson, and Shanora Curry, all of Palatka; Kia, Miami; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, god-sisters, god-brothers and friends. During Lisa time of illness her mother Nita Bryant, step father Sam Bryant and niece Beverly Marshall provided unconditional love and care for her.
Visitation will be from 5-7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 19, at Karl N. Flagg Serenity Memorial Chapel. Homegoing Tribute Service will be 1 p.m., Saturday, July 20, at Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church, 4909 St. Johns Avenue, Palatka 32177, Reverend Karl N. Flagg, Pastor. Interment will be in Oak Hill East Cemetery.
