Obituary

Faye Lynett Wright Threet, 63, of Hastings, entered the sunset of life on Sunday, April 4, 2021 at her family's residence. The daughter of James Frank Wright, Sr. and Dorothy Louise (Thomas) Wright, Faye was born on Saturday, June 1, 1957 in Palatka, Florida. Faye was a 1975 graduate of Palatka South High School, where she played volleyball, softball, and basketball. After graduation, she "entered to learn" at The Great Bethune-Cookman College (University) and pledged Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. Faye "departed to serve" after earning her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education in 1979. She subsequently furthered her education at the University of North Florida, where she earned a Master's degree in Elementary Education.

In 1974, Faye met her husband, Frankie Threet, and they were united in holy matrimony on May 28, 1983, at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. Frankie and Faye were married for 36 years and made their home in Hastings, Florida. Faye was employed as an Elementary School Teacher in the Putnam County School District. In 1979, she was initially employed at the Crescent City Community (Elementary) School. In 1994, she transferred to the James A. Long Elementary School until retirement on November 9th, 2020, with over 41 years of meritorious service. Faye was an avid reader of the Holy Bible, and her passion was taking care of children and assisting as a coach and statistician for the Palatka High School girls' basketball team and "Band Mom" for many years.

From her youth, Faye was a member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church and served faithfully in the Usher Ministry, Sunday School Department (Superintendent and Teacher), Children's Ministry, and Choir. Faye was a loyal attendee of prayer meeting, Bible study, and Sunday School. Faye's special love for children, their education, and well-being, allowed her to be "a mother" to many.

In addition to her parents, Faye was preceded in eternal rest by her brother, Curtis W. Wright.
