Obituary

Fannie Mae Perry-Session was born on Tuesday, November 6, 1945, to the union of Lee and Eubelyne (Boyd) Perry in Fitzgerald, Georgia. They relocated to Palatka, Florida with their family while she was a young child.

She was an active member of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, where she learned to lean and depend on the Lord for her daily growth and strength. She attended public school in Putnam County. As a very multi-talented individual, she did amazing upholstery work and served in the missionary society and on the church culinary staff.

Fannie worked and retired after 20+ years from Florida Furniture. She was known by many as a seamstress and a great cook. But most especially, she loved the Lord Jesus and it was well with her soul, when God sent his angels for Fannie on Sunday, June 27, 2021 at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center, Palatka, where she gently and quietly slipped away from the joys and toils of this life. She is sleeping in Jesus and waits for the "first trumpet sound," Oh, what a day of rejoicing that will be. She is already missed for her kindness toward others, outgoing personality, warm smile, and zest for life.

In addition to her parents, Fannie was preceded in eternal rest by: her husband, Robert Cleveland Session; sisters, Tina Harris, Annie Ruth Perry, and Lena Mae Gibbs; and brothers, Johnny Perry, Lee Perry, and Lawrence Perry.

Fannie leaves her loving family to cherish her memories: sisters, Alice Hightower, Brunswick, GA; Jannie Edwards, Barbara Woods, Cynthia (Albert) Blue, Latonya Perry, all of Palatka; Lillian Powell, Ft. Myers; brothers, Vance Perry, Palm Coast; Andrew Perry, Palatka; Willie C. Perry, Cape Coral; Cornelious Perry, Ft. Myers; "like a daughter," Ja'Meka Johnson; "like a son," Cortavis Perry; stepchildren, Rita Applin, Murphy Applin, Tyrone Harris, Robert Session, Timmy Session, Earline Session, Crystal (Danny) Williams; sisters-in-law, Betty Session, Connie Session, Cora Session, Linda Session; brothers-in-law, Izell (Jean) Session, Elijah (Karen) Session, Palmer Gibbs.

Though she was not a biological mother, she was a mother to many of her sisters, brothers, nieces, and nephews. Whatever she said, "That's what was done."

CDC guidelines will be followed for the visitation of family and friends from 5-7 p.m., Friday, July 2 at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, 800 Madison Street, Palatka. Homegoing Celebration will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 3, at Calvary Family Life Center, 1414 Bronson Street, Palatka. Fannie's Pastor, Reverend Tommy J. Rodgers, is the eulogist.
