Obituary

Ezell Williams, Sr., 79, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Monday, July 25, 2016 at Haven Hospice, Roberts Care Center, Palatka. The son of Eddie Williams, Sr. and Thennie Heller Rollins, he was born on Tuesday, February 2, 1937 in Macon, GA. He was educated in the Union County School District. In his earlier years, he worked as a lumberjack and as a food service employee in the Putnam County School District. In 1996, he retired from Central State Diversified following 25+ dedicated years. He was a Masonic Brother of the 32nd degree. He enjoyed barbequing, cooking, dancing, worshipping the Lord, listening to jazz, and eating his favorite snack (Lay's sour cream & onion potato chips) with a Pepsi.

In addition to his parents, Ezell was preceded in eternal rest by his: wife of 37 years, Josephine James Williams; brother, Eddie Williams, Jr.; sister, Minnie Bell Williams.

He leaves to cherish his memories: devoted daughter, Judy Williams (Clem Mosley), Palatka; sons, Elder Ronald A. Williams, Elder Robert (Vanessa) Williams, Sr., Ezell (Katrina) Williams, Jr, all of Palatka; Vincent J. Williams, Jacksonville; sisters, Pearl Cason Williams, Thennie Cason, both of Gainesville; brothers, Walter H. Cason, Alachua; Izell Cason, Seattle, WA, Daniel Mctier, Tocoma, WA; brother-in-law, Lester (Alice Mae) James, Sr., Palatka; 17 grandchildren, including devoted granddaughter, Shakia Williams, Palatka; 14 great-grandchildren; goddaughter, Mamie Oxendine, Palatka; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation of family and friends will be 5-8 p.m., Friday, August 5 at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." Celebration of Life will be 2 p.m., Saturday, August 6, at Pentecostal Church of God in Christ, 624 North 9th Street, Palatka, Superintendent Johnnie Shaw, host Pastor. Superintendent H. Wayne Colbert, Sr., Pastor of Victorious Faith Church of God in Christ, is the eulogist.
