Obituary

Erma Jean Dean, 50, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Friday, January 9, 2015 at her residence. A native and lifelong resident of Palatka, she was born on Tuesday, May 26, 1964 to John Wesley & Marie (Williams) Dean. Erma was educated in the Putnam County School District. In her early years, she attended Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church. She was a homemaker who was very sociable and enjoyed cooking. Erma also enjoyed listening to the blues, dancing, and spending time with her family & friends. In addition to her mother, Erma was preceded in eternal rest by her brothers, Leon Bolling and Eddie Dean; sister, Myra Dean; maternal grandparents, Joe Henry & Emma (Perkins) Williams; paternal grandparents, Emory & Emily (Allen) Dean. She leaves to cherish her memories: father, John Wesley Dean, Palatka; children, Sabrina Leonard, East Palatka, Terrell Anderson, Elena (Derrick) Davis, both of Palatka; 8 grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Hill, Cocoa, Mary Ellen (George) Anderson, St. Mary, GA, Betty (Henry) Campbell, Rhoda Dean, Cynthia (Manuel) Hill, all of Palatka, Jannette (Michael) Cooper, Jeannette (Jimmie) Morrison, both of Jacksonville, Faye (Anthony) Royster, Palatka; brothers, Emory (Valerie) Dean, Palatka, John James Dean, Jacksonville; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. Visitation of family and friends will be 5-8 p.m., Friday, January 16, at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." Celebration of Life will be 1 p.m., Saturday, January 17 at First Born Church of the Living God, 1708 Madison Street, Palatka, Bishop W.L. Smith, Pastor. Pastor Abram S. Jones, The Word Christian Center, Hastings, is the Eulogist.
