Erline McCoy McMillan, 91, of Palatka, peacefully entered the sunset of life on Monday, May 6, 2019 at her residence. A native of Palatka, she was the daughter of Julius McCoy and Grace Elvera Laws Lawrence, born on Saturday, April 14, 1928. She was educated in the Putnam County School District and a 1947 graduate of Central Academy High School. Erline was a lifelong member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, baptized at an early age, serving in the Junior Choir and Choir #2. She was formerly affiliated with Martha's Court, Heroines of Jericho. Erline was a delightful and compassionate woman who truly loved the Lord, her family and friends. She was a longtime, loyal Avon sales representative with many satisfied clients that she considered as extended family members. In the mid 1960's, she commenced a rewarding and trailblazing career of over two decades as a J.C. Penney associate. She specialized in Home Décor and she also prepared special feature stories marketing sales on miscellaneous fabrics.
In addition to her parents, Erline was preceded in eternal rest by her husband of 45 years, Gaston "Snooke" McMillan; and her brother, Herman McCoy; and step father Tom Lawrence
She leaves to cherish her memories: loving, devoted daughters, Joyce Williams, Palatka; Barbara Davis, Jacksonville; grandchildren, Keith Williams, Darrell Williams, Kahleia Davis, Kevin C. Davis; devoted niece, Pamela (Herman) Roberts; godchildren, Alesia Hall, Palatka; Anthony Hill, Tampa; devoted friends, Ella Fells; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Homegoing Celebration will be 4:30 p.m. Saturday, May 11, at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 322 North 10th Street, Palatka, Rev. Frederick T. Demps, Pastor, is the Eulogist. Interment will be in Oak Hill West Cemetery.
