Eric Brent Felder, Sr., 46, lifelong resident of Hastings, recently residing in Palm Coast, entered the sunset of life on Thursday, June 23, 2011, at Flagler Hospital, St. Augustine, Florida. Eric was a native of Palatka, born Saturday, May 8, 1965 to Eddie & Jessie Mae (Middlebrook) Felder. In his early years, he was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church and Pompeys Temple Church of God in Christ. He was educated in St. Johns County School District (Hastings High School, Class of 1983). Eric was formerly employed as a lumber yard foreman in Bunnell. He was an avid sports fan, loved detailing cars and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Eric was preceded in eternal rest by his father, Eddie George Gator Felder; brother, Eddie Lucky Felder; son, Eric Brent Lil Eric Felder, Jr., maternal grandparents, Bennett (Della) Middlebrook; paternal grandparents, Eddie (Maybell) Felder, two aunts, six uncles. Erics memories will be cherished forever by his devoted mother, Jessie Mae Middlebrook, Hastings; daughters, Erica (Marty) Lee; Darleshia Naomi Felder, both of Palm Coast; Kristine Felder, St. Augustine; Ranesha Gaines, Fayetteville, NC; Maria Butuso, GA; son, DAnte Felder, Hastings; stepchildren, Dominic Gaines, St. Augustine; and Rahkia Gaines, Fayetteville; 8 grandchildren; sisters, Cornester Terry, Gainesville; Minister Glenda GiGi (Minister Hiawathia) Porter, Hastings; Goldia Felder and Paula (Dwayne) Shack, both of Jacksonville; Sherry Felder, Tampa; Alfreda (J.R.) Evans, West Palm Beach; adoptive sister, Shelby Jack; brothers, Kenneth (Annie Ruth) Felder, Danny Felder and Victor Felder; sister-in-law, Hildegard Felder; all of Hastings; and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation of family and friends will be from 5-8 p.m., Friday, July 1, 2011 at the Chapel of Serenity. A Celebration of Erics Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 2, 2011 at The Lords Temple City of Refuge, 140 Gilmore Street, Elder Thomas Cave, III, Pastor. Reverend Karl N. Flagg, pastor of Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church, Palatka, is the eulogist. Reverend Rick Torrence, pastor of Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church, presiding. Interment will follow in the Gethsemane Cemetery.
