Obituary

Emma "Ivory Lee" Brantley George, 96, of Seville, entered the sunset of life on Sunday, July 24, 2022 at AdventHealth Deland. The daughter of Herman Mitchell and Hattie Brantley, she was born on Wednesday, August 26, 1925 in Allendale County, South Carolina and was educated in the Allendale School District. She was a former member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church of Seville and True Foundation Ministries of Crescent City. Emma was a member and church mother of Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church, Crescent City. She was formerly employed as a fern cutter (Ronald Jones & Larry Jones Ferneries, Pierson) and was also a fruit picker. She enjoyed cooking and baking, especially sweet potato pies. She was a loving mother in her family, church, and community and she will be dearly missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in eternal rest by her husband, James; son, Michael; granddaughter, Patricia; brother, Willie Bryant; sister, Marilyn Thomas; son-in-law, Earnest Crowder (July 17, 2022).

She leaves to cherish her memories: daughters , Annie Lee Crowder, Clarabel George, Selestine (Donovan) Graham; son, Raymond (Alison) George; great granddaughter/ "like a daughter," Tanisha Ravenell; brother , Herman (Catherine) Lee; sisters , Sarah Lee Thomas, Edna Best; grandchildren, Joe Bacon (her rock), Pernell Crowder, Lillie Kim (Darren) May, Anissa Crowder Slaymaker, April (Matthew) Floyd, Teri (Richard) Scott, Carmen (Andrew) Wilson, Vanessa (Timothy) Williams, Jeremie Grant; 11 great- grandchildren; 29 great-great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-great grandchild; "like a son," Leslie Betrand; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and close friends.

Visitation of family & friends will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, July 29; Homegoing Celebration will be 11 a.m., Saturday July 30, at Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church, 608 Randolph Street, Crescent City, Rev. Karl N. Flagg, Senior Pastor, is the eulogist. Interment will be in St. Johns Cemetery, Seville, FL.
