Obituary

Mother Ella L. Williams, 74, of Palatka, was summoned to rest from her earthly life's mission to spend life eternal with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at her residence surrounded by her family. The daughter of Marjorie W. Jenkins and Wilford Williams, she was a native of Sarasota, born on Friday, April 4, 1941. She was educated in the Putnam County School District at Central Academy. During her childhood years, she was a member of Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church and was a former member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Federal Point. On October 15, 2011, she joined Grace & Truth Deliverance Ministries under the leadership of Apostle Dr. Cora B. Fells and baptized on the glorious morning of Easter Sunday, April 8, 2012. She served faithfully and was fully dedicated to assist wherever there was a need. She served with the Women of Judah Ministry and on the Mother's Board and never complained while continuously serving faithfully in spite of her challenged health.

Over the years, she was an employee of Hart Point Restaurant (12), Best Packers Company (9) and the Holiday Inn (4). From February 5, 1996, she was a cook in the Dietary Department at Palatka Health Care Center and was named "Outstanding Support Services Employee of the Year" on October 15, 2011. In 2013, she retired after 17 years of loyal service.

In addition to her parents and grandparents, she was preceded in eternal rest by her brother , Lee Andrew Williams Sr.; cousin "like a brother," Donald Ray Williams; aunt and uncle, Wilbert and Marion McCoy; son-in-law, Deacon Walter Lee "Walt" Oliver, Jr.

To cherish her memories: sons and daughters, Cynthia (Fredrick) Bennett, Oklahoma City, OK; Linda J. Oliver, East Palatka; Leon (Loretta) Johns, Birmingham, AL; Cathy Hill, Denise Michelle Johnson, and Izell (Monica) Hendrieth; "like a daughter," Janet (Samuel) Thomas, "like a son," Timothy (Mabel) McCoy, all of Palatka; sister-in-law, Clarissa Gilyard Williams, Palatka; 25 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; numerous other relatives and friends, especially her lifelong friends, Clyde Jenkins and Shirley Hendrieth.

Visitation of family and friends will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, February 26 at Grace & Truth Deliverance Ministries, 700 N. 11th Street, Palatka. Homegoing Celebration will be 11 a.m., Saturday, February 27 at Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church, 4909 St. Johns Avenue, Palatka. Her pastor, Apostle Dr. Cora B. Fells, is the Eulogist.
