Elizabeth "Liz" Jackson, the daughter of Willie Jackson and Dorothy Austin, was a native and lifelong resident of Palatka, FL., born on August 14, 1949. Liz was educated in the Putnam County School District and a 1967 graduate of Central Academy High School. During her early years she was baptized and was a former member of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church. Over the course of her working career, "Liz" was employed by American Radionics and the In and Out neighborhood store. She also earned and was employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, watching Tyler Perry sitcoms, working crossword puzzles, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She never met a stranger and was always willing to help those in need.
In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was preceded in eternal rest by her stepfather , G. B. Maxwell; brother , Freddie Jackson; aunt and uncles , Harriet (Henry) Williams and Harry Austin.
"Liz" answered her heavenly call on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at Haven Hospice Roberts' Care Center.
Elizabeth is survived by her daughters, Kimberly Jackson, LaTonya Thomas, both of Palatka; devoted son , Delvin Jackson, Palatka; "like a son," Micah (Cynthia) Hatcher, East Palatka; brothers , Calvin Maxwell, George Maxwell; sisters , Larcina Maxwell, Cora Maxwell Hightower, Brenda Bryant, Yolanda "Yogi" Maxwell, all of Palatka; 12 grandchildren , Jasmine, Commodry, Brittani, Jalen, Gary, Tatyana, Imani, Tyshawn, Tarik, Tavion, Irene, King; 8 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and loving friends, including : Ingrid Armstrong, Ray Michael Bess, Brenda Campbell, and Annette Maxwell.
In compliance with CDC COVID-19 guidelines, a socially-distanced (masks required) visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, October 2 and a Celebration of her life will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, October 3 at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity" with Rev. Karl N. Flagg, Senior Pastor, Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church, officiating.
