Elizabeth Pearl Sheppard Douglas, 55, of Orlando (Former resident of East Palatka), entered the sunset of life on Friday November 7, 2008 at Dr. P. Phillips Hospital Orlando, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was a native of Long Island, New York. Her family relocated to East Palatka and she was a graduate of Palatka South, Class of 71. She has resided in Orlando for the past 35 years. She was a member of Mount Olive Seventh Day Adventist Church, Apopka for 26 years and a former member of Mount Sinai Seventh Day Adventist Church in Orlando. She was employed as a steward at The Hyatt Hotel/ Resorts of Orlando. In her spare time, she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, singing, dancing and spending time with her family. She was a full of joy, hope and was a very loving and compassionate person. Elizabeth is preceded in eternal rest by her Mother, Pearl Green Williams; Father, J.C. Willis; Stepfather, Earnest Sheppard; Maternal Grandparents, Isabel & John Green. To cherish her memories: Husband, Volney Douglas, Kingston, Jamaica; Daughters, Isabel (Demetrius McCaskill) Gomez and Sophia Gomez, both of Palatka; Tina Charitable, Orlando; Sons, Willie A. Henry, Solomon Gomez and Phillip Charitable, all of Orlando; Brothers, Frank Reynolds, Floyd Reynolds, Willie Reynolds, Matthew Reynolds, all of Palatka; John Reynolds, George Reynolds, all of Elizabeth City, NC; Sisters, Thelma Willis, East Palatka; Annie Mae (Alfonso) Smith, Elizabeth City, NC; Mable Willis, Melbourne, FL 14 grand children and a host of other relatives and caring friends. Visitation of family & friends will be Tuesday, November 18th, from 5-8 p.m. and Wed. 9 am until time of service. Homegoing services will be Wednesday, November 19th at 3 pm at The Chapel of Serenity 2400 Madison Street. Pastor Ricardo Daphnis of Bethany Seventh Day Adventist, Palatka , Officiating Interment will be in Pattersonville Cemetery, East Palatka.
