Overseer/Pastor Ronald Edward Bellamy, Sr., 68, of Palatka, peacefully transitioned from his earthly labors to his eternal reward on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville. A native of St. Augustine, he was born on Tuesday, September 19, 1944 to Joe & Amanda (Hayes) Bellamy, Sr. At an early age, the family relocated to Bunnell and he was educated in the Flagler County School District. He was united in Holy Matrimony to the former Annie Mae Brooks and they subsequently relocated to Palatka. Over the years since 1972, he was employed with Best Packers, Florida Furniture, and Central States Diversified (tow motor operator) until retirement in 2000. As a skilled plumbing entrepreneur, he owned and operated Bellamy's Drain Service. He was a former member The Temple of God Miracle Deliverance Center (now To God Be the Glory Holiness Church) under the leadership of Dr. Ruth Lowe-Reeves. He subsequently became a member of New Life Temple Fellowship under the leadership of Senior Bishop Mark A. Jones. Elder Bellamy was appointed as Pastor of New Life Temple Fellowship in Green Cove Springs in September of 2000, where he served the Lord faithfully and his famed quote is, "Come on and Tell the Lord Thank you." In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in eternal rest by his brother, Sidney Bellamy. Those who treasure his loving memories: devoted wife of 48 years, Annie Brooks Bellamy; 5 children, Elder Ronald (Mildred) Bellamy Jr., Joyce Bellamy, Valerie (Emory) Dean, and James (La'Chandra) Bellamy Sr., all of Palatka; Sheila (Woodrow) Myles, Laurel Hill, MD; 14 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; 10 sisters & brothers; Harold (Danita) Bellamy, Joe (Azalee) Bellamy, Jr., and Anthony Roosevelt Bellamy, all of Palatka; Josephine (Alphonso) Brooks, Crescent City; Patricia (Benjamin) Jackson, Annie (James) Williams, Barbara (Walter) McNeil, Edward Tyrone Bellamy, and Rosemary (Dexter) Moore, all of Jacksonville; Gus Steve Bellamy, Tampa; aunt, Alice Thomas, Jacksonville Beach; and a host of other relatives and caring friends. Visitation of family and friends: 5-8 p.m. Thursday, January 24 at New Life Temple Fellowship, 510 N. Pine Avenue, Green Cove Springs; 5-8 p.m. Friday, January 25 at New Life Temple Fellowship, 161 W. Louis Broer Road, East Palatka. Homegoing Celebration will be 2 p.m. Saturday, January 26 at Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church, 4909 St. Johns Avenue Palatka. Bishop Mark A. Jones, Presiding Prelate of New Life Temple Fellowship OCI, is the eulogist. Interment will be in Oak Hill West Cemetery. The Cortege will assemble at 1:20 p.m. Saturday at the Bellamy family residence, 1207 Napoleon Street, Palatka.
