Obituary

Evangelist Edward Kennedy "Kenny" Ellington, 70, of Hastings, entered the sunset of life on Monday, December 21, 2015 at Flagler Hospital, St. Augustine. The son of Deacon Leroy and Annie Ruth (Smith) Ellington, he was a native and longtime resident of Palatka, born on Tuesday, March 27, 1945. He was a 1963 graduate of Central Academy High School. On April 3, 1993, he was united in Holy Matrimony to the former Judy Humphrey. He was a faithful, longtime member of To God Be the Glory Holiness Church, formerly serving as Sunday School Superintendent and Men's Ministry President. He dearly loved his family and church family. He never met a stranger, loved talking about the goodness of God and often enjoyed fishing. In 2014, he retired from Hastings Youth Academy after 14 years of dedicated service as a youth counselor.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in eternal rest by his sisters, Vera and Karen Ellington, Annette Ellington Gardner, Dorothy Ellington Williams; brothers, Leroy Jr., Robert, and Calvin Ellington.

To cherish his memories: loving and devoted wife of 22 years , Judy Humphrey Ellington, Hastings; son, Travis Ellington, Miami; stepchildren, Malissa Aaron, Kissimmee; Tonya (Eric) Jones, Tallahassee; Tim (Lisa) Aaron, Palatka, Kim Aaron, Orlando; Tiffany (Reggie) Chandler, Los Angeles, CA; Daphne (Timmy) Robinson, Raiford; brother, Clifford Ellington, Palatka; sister, Pastor Patricia (Pastor Gary) Stern, Chicago, IL; brother-in-law, Ulysses (Phyllis) Humphrey, Durham, NC; sisters-in-law, Betty Nelson Scott and Doris P. Humphrey, both of Palatka; Patricia Humphrey, Hawthorne; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends.

Visitation of family & friends will be 5-7 p.m., Monday, December 28 at To God Be the Glory Holiness Church, 3521 St. Johns Avenue, Palatka, Pastor Linda G. Hall. Homegoing Celebration will be 12 Noon, Tuesday, December 29, at Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church, 4909 St. Johns Ave., Palatka, Elder James Campbell, Sr., former assistant Pastor of To God Be the Glory, is the eulogist.
