IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Edward Arthur
Dimmick, Dvm
December 18, 1964 – March 28, 2023
Dr. Edward Dimmick was born to Dr. Charles Wm. Dimmick and Charleen Fristoe Dimmick on Monday, December 18, 1967, in Nacogdoches, Texas . He grew up in Cheshire, CT, where he completed his formal education. Edward graduated from Cheshire High School and the University of Connecticut. Later, Edward obtained a degree in Veterinary Science from the Veterinary School of Tufts University in Massachusetts. Edward was of the Episcopalian faith and was an active member of the Grange, the Patrons of Husbandry for more than 40 years. Dr. Dimmick rendered a great deal of service to local clinics in Connecticut and Florida. Traveling pet wellness clinics and agricultural fairs also benefited from Dr. Dimmick's expertise. His passion for pet wellness and preventative care was displayed at the River City Veterinary Hospital in Palatka, FL and he was planning to open his own practice, the Magnolia Clinic, in the Villages later this year. He had a particular interest in laser therapy for pets as a unique and useful tool for Veterinarians and pet owners. He desired to bring a comprehensive approach to the clinic by focusing on the long-term stability of a pet to ensure a long, happy, and healthy life with their family. In Putnam County, his charity work also included volunteer efforts at the local food bank. Dr. Dimmick was an avid reader and particularly enjoyed sci-fi books.
Edward was preceded in eternal rest by his mother in October 2010. He entered the sunset of life on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at his residence.
He is survived by his father, Dr. Charles William Dimmick; brother, Wesle Dymoke; uncles, Paul Dimmick, Gary Dimmick and George Kurz; cousins, Peter Dimmick, Maggie Dimmick and Kat Umeh.
The Dimmick family will host a private memorial service for Edward at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Cheshire, CT.
