Edward James Cusato, 73, of Georgetown, entered the sunset of life on Saturday, July 4, 2020 at Haven Hospice, Roberts Care Center, Palatka. A native of Camden, New Jersey, he was the son of Paul Cusato and Helen Juliano Cusato, born on Monday, August 19, 1946. He earned his high school diploma in the Camden County NJ School District. He subsequently entered the United States Army, and honorably served our nation during the Vietnam War. After his military tour, he pursued a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma and subsequently earned a Master of Education degree in Biology at Southwestern Oklahoma State University. He served as an educator in Oklahoma for over two decades and shared the last eleven years of his 35-year teaching career in the Putnam County School District at Crescent City High School until retirement in 2007. He also enjoyed taking his S.A.V.E. students on camping trips. He was united in marriage to the former Sherry Ann Hinte on February 15, 2004 in Palatka. Upon retiring, his hobbies included camping and spending time outdoors. Edward was preceded in eternal rest by his parents.
He leaves to cherish his memories: devoted wife, Sherry Cusato, Georgetown; sons and daughter, James (Jenny) Hurry, Oklahoma City, OK; Teresa (Rich) Quarberg, Johnson City, TN; Michael Cusato, Christopher Cusato, both of Chickasha, OK; 5 grandchildren, Allyson, Nicholas, James, Samantha, and Michael; 1 great-grandson, Sawyer; sisters, Rose Pezzato (Tom Fells), Hollister; Cindy McWilliams, St. Pete Beach; numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends, especially his best friends: Lorraine Minto, Georgetown; Stan Nadoraski, Palatka.
In accordance with Ed's wishes, no public services are being planned.
