Eddie Lee Shine, Jr., 81, of Green Cove Springs, entered the sunset of life on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at his residence, surrounded by his caring family. The son of Eddie Lee and Mattie Jane (Holland) Shine, Sr., he was born on March 6, 1942 in Clay County, FL. He was educated in the Clay County School District and was a 1960 graduate of Dunbar High School. He was a member of Theophilus Tabernacle of Faith in Christ. He was a former longtime member of New Bethel Baptist Church, Green Cove Springs. He was employed by the Clay County School District as a custodian and bus driver for over 25 years. He was also formerly a truck driver. Eddie enjoyed driving and racing cars, and watching the Dallas Cowboys and Florida State Seminoles.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in eternal rest by his maternal grandparents, Burner and Nellie Holland; brothers, Robert Sylvester Taylor, Glen Kerdisy Francis; grandchild, DeVon Lee Shine; "like a son," Phillip Tobler; uncles/aunts, James, Leo, Frank, Burnie Mae, and Agnes Holland.

He leaves to cherish his memories: son, Eddie Lee (Alicia) Shine III, Marcell V. Shine; daughter, Lorrie D. Shine; grandchildren, Eddie, Charlenda, Blaine, Blaike, Blaize, Debbie, Curtis, Shantay, Anthony, Antwan, Ednisha, Marquise, Sydnia, Jaylin, Tahj, Re'Nasja, Rashad, D'Rheah, DeVonne, Braylan, Makynzie, Angel, Malia; "like daughters," Renae Snell, Istash Young, Stacia Wilson, Dorothy Rendell, Delores Knowles; aunt, Bertha Deboles; and a host of other relatives and close friends.

Graveside service: 2 p.m., Saturday, January 13, 2024, at Mt. Olive Cemetery, Green Cove Springs. Rev. Dr. Abron Marshall, Sr., Pastor, Theophilus Tabernacle of Faith in Christ, Green Cove Springs.
