Ebony Sharee McCoy Fuqua, 32, of Hinesville, GA (formerly of Palatka) entered the sunset of life unexpectedly on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at Liberty Regional Medical Center, Hinesville, GA. A native of Gainesville, Ebony was the daughter of Larry McCoy and Rosetta Andrews, born on Thursday, December 13, 1979. She was a graduate of Palatka High School, Class of 1998. During her early years, she was a member of St. Joseph Primitive Baptist Church in Palatka. She was formerly employed as a Radiology Tech at Putnam Community Medical Center. In 2000, she relocated to Hinesville, GA., and was active in the U.S. Naval Reserves. Ebony continued her education at the Georgia Corrections Academy and was employed with Rogers State Prison (Reidsville) and Smith State Prison (Glennville). Her employment also included Eric Hall Pediatrics and Phillips Pediatrics (Dr. Ajayi). She loved music and enjoyed dancing, spending time with her children, family and friends. She was preceded in eternal rest by her maternal grandparents, Hattie Andrews Davis and Willie Lee Andrews, Sr., paternal grandfather, Wilbert L. McCoy. Those who cherish her memories, children; Ta'jon Fuqua, Ynobe McCoy, both of Hinesville, GA; parents; Rosetta A. B. (Andrew) Phillips; Larry McCoy, both of Palatka; like a father; Dwayne Anthony Blue, Albany, GA; brothers, Tyrone Randy "TJ" Johnson, Drayton Hampton, Willie Brinson, all of Gainesville; Larry McCoy, Jr., Jacksonville; Christopher Phillips, Ft. Lauderdale, Richard (Dorothy) Fells; sisters, Virginia B. Lynn, North Carolina; Roshonda Phillips (Steve) Watson, Palatka; grandmothers, Mertis Davis, Palatka; Ella Mae Blue, Hastings; and a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives, classmates and special friends. Visitation of family and friends will be 5 - 8 p.m. Friday, August 24, at the "Chapel of Serenity." Homegoing Celebration will be 12 noon Saturday, August 25, at Bethel A.M.E. Church, 719 Reid St., Palatka, Reverend James McGriff pastor. Elder Alonzo Mulberry, pastor of Soul Mission Church of God In Christ, is the eulogist. Interment will be in Oak Hill West Cemetery, 712 S. Palm Avenue, Palatka.
