Obituary

Earnestine Robinson Odom, 60, of Crescent City, entered the sunset of life on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at Putnam Community Medical Center, Palatka. A native and lifelong resident of Crescent City, Earnestine was born on Friday, October 12, 1951 to Thelma Robinson & Zeno King. She was educated in the Putnam County School District. She was a member of the Crescent City House of God Church. A retired homemaker, she was also a seasonal worker and babysitter. She was the beloved wife of Frank Odom, Sr. and they were blessed with five treasured children. Earnestine loved the Lord and enjoyed walking, shopping and spending time with her family and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Earnestine was preceded in eternal rest by her sister, Margaret King and brother, Willie King. Those who esteem her legacy of love: cherished son, Larry (Carol) Taylor; devoted daughters, Thelma (Keith) Banks, Frankie Odom, and Panessie Ward, all of Crescent City; Kathleen (Jonathan) Jordan, Melbourne; devoted sisters, Jessie (Joseph) Ledbetter, Crescent City; Louise (Eddie) Gordon, Gainesville; 14 adorable grandchildren; 4 precious great-grandchildren; caring god-daughter Nyeshia Nelson, Crescent City; loving godchildren; Joseph Brantley, Marion Brantley, Jr., and the Brantley sisters; all of Crescent City; a host of compassionate nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and several dear friends, especially, Betty Neely, Chicago, IL; Emmer Williams, Emily Williams and Cyd Snider, all of Crescent City. Visitation of family and friends will be held from 5-7p.m. on Friday, January 27, at her church. Homegoing Celebration will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, January 28, at the Crescent City House of God Church, 1020 Clemons Lane, Reverend Vandie Gordon, Pastor, presiding. General Elder Frank Matthews, (SEIT), Pastor, Jacksonville House of God Church, is the eulogist. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Crescent City. The cortege will assemble at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at her family's residence, 915 Center Street, Crescent City.
