Obituary

Earnest "Boe-Jack" Valentine, Jr., 70, of Palatka, peacefully entered eternal rest surrounded by his devoted wife and family at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center. A native of Levy County and lifelong resident of Palatka, he was the son of Earnest Valentine, Sr. and Letha Mae (Alexander) Valentine, born on Wednesday, November 17, 1948. He was educated in the Putnam County School District. "Boe-Jack" was employed with Georgia-Pacific Corporation for 42 years as a Crane Operator. On June 11, 2017, he joined Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church and was baptized on Sunday, July 2, 2017. "Boe-Jack" was passionate about his relationship with God. He often emphasized how much he loved God and faithfully attended bible study. He loved fishing, watching sports, and cooking for his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Earnest was preceded in eternal rest by his daughter, Teresa Valentine; brother, Dave Thompson; sister, Linda Valentine; grandson, Jerreyl Gulley; stepson, Jahme' Jones.

He leaves to cherish his memories: loving wife, Honorable Tammie McCaskill-Valentine; daughters, Briggett (Leroy) Valentine-Turner, West Palm Beach; Nicole (Ricky) Davis, Pompano Beach; Nikki (Frederick "Jody") Edwards, Fleming Island; Venecia Valentine, Palm Coast; Chela (Melvin) Dasher, Palatka; son, Zachariah Williams; step-daughters, Payton Brinson, Jamaica Jenkins; step-son, Kevin Walker; brothers, Willie Lee Valentine, Ronald Valentine, Samuel Thompson, Freddie Valentine; sisters, Faye Valentine, Joanne Thompson, Kathy Thompson, Sandra Thompson; 16 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and a host of other relatives and friends, including three loyal friends, Alphonso McRae, Sr., John L Williams, Willie "Luke" Simmons.

Visitation of family and friends will be 5-8 p.m., Friday, May 17 at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." Homegoing Celebration will be 10 a.m., Saturday, May 18 at Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church, 4909 St. Johns Avenue, Palatka, Reverend Karl N. Flagg, Pastor is the eulogist. Interment will be in Oak Hill West Cemetery.
