Earnest Crowder, 87, of Seville, peacefully entered the sunset of life on Sunday, July 17, 2022 at Parkside Health & Rehabilitation Center, Deland. The son of Frank Crowder and Lillie Mae Wilson, he was born on Monday, May 27, 1935 in Durand, GA. He was educated in the Meriwether County GA School District. Earnest was a fernery laborer for 20 years, worked in construction for 10 years and was the owner and operator of Earnest Lawn Service for 20 years. He was a former member of True Foundation Ministries, Crescent City. He was a member of Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church of Crescent City. Earnest enjoyed fishing and watching Westerns, Looney Tunes, and The Road Runner.
In addition to his parents, Earnest was preceded in eternal rest by his brothers, Norman Crowder, Wiley Crowder, Pearce Crowder, sisters, Catherine Crowder, Pauline Crowder, Mary Jo Strickland, son-in-law, Robert Slaymaker.
He leaves to forever cherish his memories: loving and devoted wife for over 50 years, Annie Crowder, sons & daughters, Joe (Veronica) Bacon, Pernell Crowder, Lillie (Darren) Crowder-May, Anissa Crowder-Slaymaker, April (Matthew) Crowder-Floyd; grandchildren, Pernell Crowder, Jr., Cameron Crowder, Amber Crowder, Zhane Richardson, Keyon Richardson, Connor May, Tanisha Ravenell, Laeonya George, Arthur Lanier, Kinte Lanier, brothers, Roy Crowder, Randy Lee Crowder, Clifford Moody, sisters, Bernice Crowder, Ollie Allen, Iona Valley, Lila Bell Robinson; mother-in-law, Emma George; sisters-in-law, Clara George, Seleste (Donovan) Graham; brother-in-law, Raymond (Alison) George; cousins, Elaine Lyons, Sherell Parks, Betty Rivers, Duhne Crowder; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation of family and friends will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, July 22 at St. Johns Missionary Baptist Church, 1835 Barton Street, Seville. Homegoing Celebration will be 10 a.m., Saturday, July 23 at Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church (South Campus), 608 Randolph Street, Crescent City, Reverend Karl N. Flagg, Senior Pastor. His brother-in-law, Minister Raymond George, is the eulogist. Interment will be in St. Johns Cemetery, Seville.
