Dotsey M. Sampson, 80, of Hawthorne, entered the sunset of life on Sunday, July 12, 2020 at her residence. The beloved daughter of Thomas Nathanial and Mamie Lou (Bullard) McKinney, was born on Monday, December 25, 1939 in Madison, FL. Mr. and Mrs. McKinney produced eleven children: George, Jessie, Jerome, Matt, Jenny, Neilza, Mamie, Chris, Maggie, Verna and Dotsey. Dotsey was educated in the Madison County School District. After graduating, she moved to Jacksonville to continue her education at Edward Waters College (EWC), Jacksonville. She joined the faculty at Greenville High School. Later, she attended Florida Agriculture and Mechanics University to obtain her Master's degree. Dotsey returned to the classroom, her true passion, and served there for 30 plus years until retirement. She was united in holy matrimony to Leonard Sampson.

Perhaps you know Dotsey or heard of her, worked with her or befriended her. She was a special and selfless person who gave without looking for anything in return. She lived a rich life of helping others pursue their goals. She did not have any children of her own, but she had so many in her heart. She was fun, loving, generous and kind even through her illness. She worked alongside her caretakers to make others' life more pleasant and comfortable. She will be sorely missed. We salute our dear sister, Dotsey Sampson.

Dotsey was preceded in eternal rest by her siblings, George, Jessie, Jerome, Neilza and Mamie.
