Dollie Mae Bussey, born Dollie Mae Jefferson was a native of Middleburg, Florida, born on Friday, March 17, 1939, to the late Inel and Jessie Jefferson. Dollie, educated in the Clay County School System, Orange Park, attended A. E. Hall Elementary and Dunbar High School.
Dollie was united in marriage to Clyde Hoover Bussey. They remained married for over 30 years until Clyde transitioned in 2004.
Dollie was employed as a Master Cook at Moosehaven Retirement Community for over 30 years. Upon retirement, She enjoyed fellowshipping with her close sister, Shirley Forman and watching her infamous soap operas and laughing.
Mrs. Bussey was a charitable, loving and God-fearing woman who loved to serve the Lord and others. She was recognized as the "Mother" of the Church, as well as the community.
For many years, Mother Dollie Bussey was a proud member of Solid Rock Church #1 of Middleburg, FL under the leadership of the Late Bishop Shingles and Pastor Bessie Suggs. She subsequently affiliated with New Hope for the Lost under Pastor Terry and co-pastor Robin Suggs.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in eternal rest by her sister, Pastor Perlie Hudson; three brothers, Eugene, Alan, Jessie; three grandchildren, Brandon, Jemarr, and Chantara.
Dollie Mae Bussey received her heavenly reward on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at the age of 86.
Dollie Bussey is lovingly treasured and forever remembered by her children, Ethel Sapp, Ronnial Jefferson, Thomas Darling (Scherrie), Clarence (Laurastine), Darryl (Katherine Harris), Adrian (Daphne), and Lutherine (Jacqueline) Bussey; numerous grandchildren, great-grands, and great-great grands; sisters, Jesse Green, Estella Hooker, Shirley Forman, Mary Jefferson, Ora Lee Leathers, Glorideen Everett, and Karen Robinson; brothers, Gerald and Tony Glenn, both of Middleburg; a "bonus daughter" Denise Forman, a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and her beloved friends of the community.
