Diane Elizabeth Longmire, 60, of Middleburg, entered the sunset of life on Monday, May 6, 2019 at Baptist Medical Center, Jacksonville. Diane, the daughter of Rex Longmire, Sr. and Geraldine Brown Longmire, was a native of Palatka, born on Saturday, January 10, 1959. She was a 1976 graduate of Orange Park High School and continued her education at St. Johns River Community (State) College. She was a County Court Clerk employed by the Miami-Dade County Clerk of the Courts Office for 23 years until retirement. Diane was a member of St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church, Middleburg. Diane enjoyed gift giving, shopping, reading, entertaining family and friends. Her father preceded her in eternal rest.
She leaves treasured memories with her loving & compassionate daughter Tamari Elizabeth Harper, Miami; loving and devoted mother, Geraldine B. Longmire, Middleburg; devoted and loving sisters Debra (Chester) Austin, Green Cove Springs; Jacquelyn Longmire (Harrison) Middleburg; Kimberly (Matthew) Chavis, Jacksonville; loving and devoted brothers, Rex Longmire Jr. (Jackie), Chet Longmire, both of Green Cove Springs; beloved nephews, Jamire Austin, Cameron Longmire Sr., Jerred Longmire, Garrett Longmire, Rayshad Butler; beloved nieces, Brittany Austin, Kayla Longmire, Rexshea Longmire; beloved god-daughter, Passion Bryant; beloved god-sister, Tyronglea Suggs; beloved god-brother, Bruce Griner Jr.; beloved cousins, Shirley Sheffield, Darlene Hendricks, Reba Johnson; and a host of other relatives and friends, including faithful and loving best friends, Katrina Witherspoon, Nettie Reese-Coleman, Patricia Thompson; special friend, Ermite Dorante.
Visitation of family and friends will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, May 17; Homegoing Celebration will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 18, at St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church, 2703 Forman Circle, Middleburg, FL., Rev. Willie Alston, pastor. Rev. Dr. Howard Siplin, Senior Pastor, Beulah Missionary Baptist Church, Coconut Grove, FL, is the Eulogist. Interment will be in Fowler-Forman Cemetery, Middleburg.
