Obituary

Devonte Kenyon "Bubba" Brown, 24, of Gainesville (Palatka), entered the sunset of life on Thursday, September 3, 2020 at Putnam Community Medical Center, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. A native of Gainesville, he was the son of Allyson Miller-Paige and Sylvester Brown, Devonte was born on Wednesday, October 18, 1995. He was educated in the Putnam County School District and a 2014 graduate of Palatka High School.  Devonte was baptized at an early age and was a member of Bethlehem Freewill Baptist Church, where he served as president of the youth department. He was s FEDEX employee at the Ocala Distribution Center. Devonte really enjoyed listening to music, traveling, taking pictures, making memories with family and friends and spreading love and joy to everyone he encountered.  Devonte was preceded in eternal rest by his great grandparents, Lee Miller, Sr. and Thelma Miller, Roosevelt and Alice Baskin and Florine "Mama Byrd" Hill.

La'Carra Alexander, Chutkira Oxendine, Brittany (Steve) Lawton, Cortney Bennett, Ganisha Cohens; god-brother, Donterius Ashley; special cousins, Darious Gilyard, Eric Hill, Jr.; best friends, Toddrick Bryant, Shannon Brown; a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends in sorrow.

In compliance with CDC COVID-19 guidelines, a socially-distanced (masks required) visitation of family and friends will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, September 11 at Bethlehem Freewill Baptist Church, 613 N 10th St, Palatka. A Celebration of Life Service will be held graveside at 1 p.m., Saturday, September 12 at Oak Hill West Cemetery, 712 South Palm Ave., Palatka, FL.  Elder Jarvis F. Wright, Sr., Pastor, New St. Paul Church, Seville, is the eulogist.
