Detron Antwan Williams, 42, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Tuesday, October 14, 2025. The son of Huester Williams and Wilma Jones, Detron was born on Monday, February 24, 1983 in Gainesville. He was educated in the Putnam County School District. Detron was skilled in concrete masonry and most recently worked in lawn maintenance. Detron was united in marriage to Heather Evenson on April 3, 2020.
He earned numerous certifications in entrepreneurship, business law & ethics, communication, personal finance as well as coursework related to recovery and more. He served as Vice President of No Comparison Foundation, Inc. (a corporation organized to help anyone in need of help). Detron's vision for the future was to help foster a community where life is better for all and success is that everyone moves one step closer to a better day.
Detron loved dogs and was an experienced breeder of Chorkies. His fur babies included Bright Eyes, Lovely and a pit bull named Coco. Going to the beach, especially St. Augustine beach was one of Detron's most favorite pastimes. He had a notable hat collection that included sports caps and dress hats. Star gazing, dancing, and hanging with friends were enjoyable times for Detron. He was well known for greeting friends and family with his classic expression ….. "You bitttttterrrrrr!"
Detron was preceded in eternal rest by his paternal grandparents, Mozelle Williams and Adjnola (Guthrie) Williams; maternal grandparents, Deacon James Charles Jones, Sr. and Wilmatine (Plummer) Jones; grandson, Elijah Rick, Jr. and father-in-law, Kieth Evenson.
Memories of Detron remain with his wife, Heather; mother, Wilma Mungin and father, Huester (Beverly) Williams; sons and daughters, Taliyah (Elijah) Williams, Auburn, NY, Jaila Williams, Tamaria Williams, LaNiya Williams, Detron Williams, Jr., Aidan Paukner, all of Palatka; sisters and brother, Titania (Bryant) Oxendine, Theresa Mungin, Dietrich (Christina) Mungin, step-brothers and step-sisters, Brandi Johnson, Lynn Johnson, Joyce Johnson, Marlon (Val) Johnson, Milton Johnson, Jr. and Jeremy Session; grandson, Mateo Hernandez; mother-in-law, Lorraine Garrison; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Memorial service in honor of Detron will be 11 a.m., Saturday, October 25 at Pentecostal Church of God in Christ, 624 N. 9th Street, Palatka. Elder Travis Reynolds, Pastor, is the eulogist.
