Obituary

Detret LaTrell Burley and her identical twin, DeLola were born on Thursday, April 7, 1977 in Gainesville, FL to Otis & Connie Hodges Burley. She was educated in the Putnam County School District (Palatka High School, class of 1995). In 2013, Detret successfully completed a course of study to obtain her Florida Security Officer Class D Licensure at the First Coast Technical College. She was a very kind and gentle soul who had a loving and generous heart. Detret touched the lives of so many people with her beautiful smile, while consistently maintaining her keen sense of humor. She enjoyed listening to music, laughing, spending time with her family, having fun with friends, and decorating with her twin-sister, DeLola. Their unique and creative decorating abilities created the opportunity for them to launch their decorating business- "Double-D Decorations." She was also an hard-working employee at Bailey's Gym on SR 19 South. Detret was a member of the Palatka House of God Church under the leadership of State Elder, Dr. Gilbert L.
