Obituary

Derringer Sharvis Albritton, 3, of Welaka, entered the sunset of his life on Monday, April 4, 2011 at the Holtz Childrens Hospital of Jackson Memorial Medical Center in Miami. He was born on Saturday, November 24, 2007 at Shands Medical Center in Jacksonville, FL to Derringer Seletto Albritton Jr. & Melonie Amanda Cooper. For most of his life, Derringer Sharvis resided in Orlando as an inpatient at the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. He attended New Mt. Tamo Baptist Church in Pomona Park. Derringer Sharvis loved anything that pertained to Elmo, and he especially adored his Elmo movies. He enjoyed music and dancing as well as learning and he had a constant smile that would brighten up a room. It was always a blessing to be around him and with his laughter; he touched the lives and hearts of everyone he encountered. Although our special son was with us on this earth for three brief years, Derringer Sharvis will live on eternally within our hearts.

He was preceded in eternal rest by his maternal great-grandparents, Edward and Gladys Cooper; paternal great-grandmother, Barbara Albritton; paternal great-grandfather James Herlong; maternal uncle, Jarvis Crocker; and paternal cousin, Marvin Wiggins.

To cherish his memories: devoted mother and father: Melonie A. Cooper, Crescent City & Derringer S. Albritton Jr., Welaka; maternal grandparents: Marla Myers and Michael Cooper, both of Crescent City; paternal grandparents: Marlyn O. Albritton, Welaka; Derringer S. Albritton, Sr., Gainesville; maternal great-grandparents: Priscilla Bennett and Leonard Myers, both of Pomona Park; paternal great-grandmother: Anna L. Herlong, Pomona Park and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Visitation of family and friends will be one hour prior to the service. Homegoing Celebration will be 4 p.m. Saturday, April 9, 2011 at Welaka Church of God by Faith, 700 Palmetto Street, Welaka. Reverend Theodore McRae, pastor of New Mt. Tamo Baptist Church, Pomona Park, is the eulogist.

Interment will be in the Welaka-Georgetown Cemetery.
