Demi Nevaeh Davis, 5, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at UF Health Shands Hospital, Gainesville. A native of St Augustine and the daughter of Dontavius Davis and Jolissia Battles, Demi was born on Friday, April 1, 2016. She was a Kindergarten student at Moseley Elementary School. She previously attended preschool for two years at the RCMA Palatka Child Development Center. Demi thoroughly enjoyed school activities, especially: "Pumpkin Patch" and "Cona Ice." Demi loved eating out, dancing, playing outdoors, playing on the phone or with other electronics, and watching television (especially Puss 'N Boots). Demi was undoubtedly a "Daddy's Girl."
She leaves to cherish her memories: mother , Jolissia Battles; father, Dontavius Davis; siblings, Jahlelah Poole, Jakahri Pollock, D'Asia Davis, Dream Davis, Dontavius Davis, Jr.; maternal grandmother , Shannon Thomas; maternal grandfather , Jonathion Battles; paternal grandmother , Gussie Calloway; paternal grandfather , Ulysees Davis, Jr.; great-grandfather , Leverete Wright; great-great grandmother, Annie Irean Young; aunts and uncles , Cameron Battles, Latavion Simmons, J'Aujohnnae McDonald, Ulysees (Precious) Davis, III, Gena Davis; and a host of great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins, and other relatives, schoolmates and friends.
Following CDC guidelines: Visitation of family and friends will be 4-6 p.m., Friday, November 19 at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." A Celebration of Demi's Life will be 3 p.m., Saturday, November 20, at the C.L. Overturf, Jr., Auditorium, 1100 S. 18 th Street, Palatka. Elder Jarvis F. Wright, Sr., Pastor of New Saint Paul Church, Seville, officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill West Cemetery.
