Della Ressia Davis McCaskill, 59, of Interlachen, entered the sunset of life on Friday, March 26, 2021 at her residence. A native of Hawthorne, she was the daughter of Venerable Armstrong, Sr. and Jannie Dell Davis Armstrong, born on Friday, April 7, 1961. She was a 1979 graduate of Interlachen High School. Della earned her certification as a Nursing Assistant through Job Corps in Knoxville, TN. She was formerly employed as a C.N.A. at Putnam Community Medical Center. Della was a former member of Powerhouse Church of God, Gainesville and also served as a former Christian Education Director in the Ocala District. She was a member of Victorious Ministries, Grandin, under the leadership of Pastor Jannie D. Armstrong. On April 20, 2002, Della was united in marriage to Anthony Earl "Amp" McCaskill (he preceded her in eternal rest on January 29, 2016). She enjoyed babysitting her nieces and nephews, cooking, and solving crossword puzzles.
In addition to her father and husband, she was preceded in eternal rest by her brother, Venerable Armstrong, Jr.; sisters, Drucilla Armstrong, Nuitrelle Armstrong-Brown; mother-in-law, Betty Jean McCaskill.
She leaves to cherish her memories: loving mother, Pastor Jannie D. Armstrong, Grandin; sisters, Valerie Armstrong, Lady Lakes; Nicole (Edwin) Armstrong-Delgado, Interlachen; brothers, Elias (Brandie) Armstrong, Palm Coast; Ira (Heather) Armstrong, Ocala; Van (Cynthia) Blount, Brooklyn, NY; stepdaughters, Malisa Nelson, Palatka; D'Wan Johnson, Tampa; Kutara Wilford, Atlanta, GA; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Tammie (Elisha II) Miller, Tyrone (Michelle) McCaskill, both of Jacksonville; Carl (Bridgette) Lewis, Bernard Lewis, Daryl McCaskill, Alvin McCaskill, all of Palatka; LaShonda Y. Fort-Armstrong, Interlachen; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and caring friends.
In compliance with CDC COVID-19 guidelines (including required masks) a socially-distanced public visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, April 2, at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity" and a Celebration of Life will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, April 3 at the Putnam County Fairgrounds Pavilion, 118 Fairgrounds Road, East Palatka. Her sister, Evangelist Valerie Armstrong, associate minister, Victorious Ministries, Grandin, is the eulogist. Interment will be in Oak Hill West Cemetery.
