Delano G. Wiseman, Sr., 84, of East Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Sunday, May 28, 2017 at Flagler Hospital, St. Augustine. The son of William Evans and Emma Jessie (Blanchet) Wiseman, he was born on Saturday, November 12, 1932 in San Antonio, TX. In the early 1960's he relocated to Putnam County and was a longtime resident of East Palatka. He was baptized and was devoted to Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Delano owned and operated Wiseman's Texaco for more than 30 years. He was formerly employed as a mill worker at Hudson Pulp & Paper. He was a lifelong outdoorsman who loved to fish. Even in his 70's, he was hired by Devil's Elbow Fishing Camp, where he continued his passion for fishing. He would often tell others where some of his son's secret fishing spots was while getting bait ready.
In addition to his parents, Delano was preceded in eternal rest by his devoted wife of 64 years, Marlene Taylor Wiseman (December 20, 2015).
He leaves to cherish his memories: daughter, Sherryl (James) Sessor, East Palatka; sons, Delano (Linda) Wiseman, Jr, Bardin; John (Linda) Wiseman, Ocala; David (Becky) Wiseman, Palm Coast; Kent (Peggy) Wiseman, Ft. Myers; Paul (Susan) Wiseman, Hartsville, SC; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A private family memorial was held on Wednesday, May 31, 2017.
