Obituary

Debra Ann Baker McGill, 60, of Satsuma, transitioned on Saturday, April 25, 2015, at Putnam Community Medical Center, Palatka. A native of Apalachicola, she was the daughter of Richard Alvin and Idelle Evelyn (Rhodes) Baker, born on Sunday, September 12, 1954. She was educated in the Franklin County, FL School District and a 1972 graduate of Chapman High School, Apalachicola. She was united in marriage to Charles Leroy McGill on January 13, 1973. They relocated to Gainesville in 1976 and relocated to Satsuma area where they have resided since 1981. Debra was a witness at Palatka's Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. She was a "stay-at-home" mom who really enjoyed nature. Her favorite past-times included: working jigsaw puzzles and feeding the birds. She was preceded in transition by her parents. She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her husband of 42 years, Charles L. McGill, Satsuma; her children, Celeste Rutledge, Gainesville; Allan McGill and Michael McGill, both of Satsuma; Leannne McGill, Palatka; sisters, Ercelle (Charles) Fishburn, Tallahassee; Cassandra (Ronald) Brandon, Haines City; and Lynn Johnson, Gainesville; four grandchildren, Erryana Whitfield, Michael S. Rutledge, Jr., Linayah Rutledge and Tyson McGill; and a host of nieces and nephews; other relatives and caring friends. Visitation of family and friends will be 5-8 p.m., Friday, May 1 at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." Services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 2, at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 201 Mission Road, Palatka, with Brother Ron Jackson and Brother Loren Thomas, co-Officiants. Interment will be in Oak Hill West Cemetery, Palatka.
