Deborah Ann Grooms, the daughter of Williemae Stevenson & Reverend Divellie Grooms, was born on Saturday, February 19, 1955 in Palatka. She was a native and lifelong resident of Palatka, Florida. Deborah was educated in the Putnam County School District and was a 1973 graduate of Central Academy High School.

At an early age, Deborah accepted Christ in her life and was baptized at Greater Shiloh by the late Reverend J.A. Wright. From her early childhood until her home confinement, she maintained her church membership and was a lifelong member of Greater Shiloh, presently serving under the Pastoral leadership of Reverend Anthony Q. Robinson, Sr.

Deborah was employed with Hudson Pulp (now Georgia-Pacific) for over 18 years before retiring. She was previously employed as a cook for Club Remy, Hastings Youth Academy and KFC; cashier at A&W Rootbeer and a seamstress at Holloway Sportswear. In her leisure time, she enjoyed sewing, cooking, and spending time with her daughter.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in eternal rest by her sisters, Annie Ruth Grooms Miller, Dorothy Faye Grooms; brothers, Willie Junior Cooks, Reverend Lawrence Cooks, Jerome Cooks, Louis Cooks.

Deborah Ann Grooms transitioned from her earthly life into eternal rest on Sunday, July 12, 2026 at her residence.

She leaves to cherish her memories: daughter, La' Kevia Leeona Rollins, St. Augustine; three devoted grandchildren, Ja' Kayla Baker, Ke' Darius Baker, Ja' Moira Baker, all of St. Augustine; goddaughter, Sabrina Wright, Palatka; special nephew, Terrill L. Hill, Palatka; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and beloved friends including special friends, Gayle Anderson, Gloria Howard, and Dorothy “Dot” Wright, all of Palatka.
